A glass building shaped in semi circles and tilted backwards to catch the sun

Sun-Moon Mansion

Dezhou, China

The Sun-Moon Mansion is one of the biggest high-rise buildings powered by the sun in the world. It has a roof shaped like a fan with over 5000 solar panels on it. This special building is used as a hotel and an exhibition centre.

It’s part of the ‘Solar Valley’ in the city where 552,000 people live, and almost all of its energy comes from solar panels placed in smart spots. With photothermal and photovoltaic technologies, it’s said to save about 2.5 tons of coal, 6.6 million kWh of electricity, and stop more than 8.6 tons of bad stuff from going into the air!
